Team Osprey Update

"Jefferson Creek, Polk Island Preserve osprey platform replacement project completed today (2/21/24) with the assistance of Assawoman Wildlife Refuge Rob Gano Regional DE Fish and Wildlife Mgr and Aaron Deiter, Conservation Technician IV,  who piloted the skiff. The new location should be safer for the ospreys to nest especially during the summer watercraft and kayak season.

Jodi thanked both Rob Gano and Aaron Deiter for lending and piloting the vessel to get this project completed on time.  Jodi also wished to thank the SBPOA membership for their donation   "..... without the SBPOA funds this project could not be done. The ospreys at the Victoria St nest surely thank you!"  The Ospreys should be arriving the third or fourth week of March, hopefully they will be successful nesting.

As previously reported Tow BoatUS also volunteered a boat and a Captain, to help with the project and we thank them for their generous offer.  It wasn't needed for this repair but it is good to know we may have that option in the future.

Photo's of the platform.
