The South Bethany Historical Society and the South Bethany Women's Club are not part of SBPOA. However, SBPOA allows them to post news, information, and updates on this website.

Mark your calendars! On May 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM our own Dr. George Junkin will be the featured speaker discussing “Storms of South Bethany”. We will have light refreshments, great information and fellowship with friends and neighbors.
The South Bethany Historical Society would like to inform our residents of our current officers. They are as follows: President: Pat Weisgerber; Vice-President: Terry York; Treasurer: George Junkin; Secretary: Carolyn Marcello. We are always looking for and welcome new members. Please contact Pat Weisgerber (302-540-1928) or Carolyn Marcello (302-539-8775) for further information, a membership application or to check and see if your dues are paid. Annual dues are $20 and cover the calendar year from January 1 thru December 31.
Be sure to stop by South Bethany Town Hall and see our new credenza in the conference room which we recently acquired to house our artifacts, thanks to help from our mayor, Pat Voveris, and paid for from the John F. Speer, Jr. memorial Fund. It’s been a long process, but we are very happy and proud of it!
Our general meeting is on the 4th Friday of the month at 10:00 AM in South Bethany Town Hall located at 402 Evergreen Rd., South Bethany De 19930. All are invited and welcome to attend. Among other business, we will be discussing future programs and/or trips to local historical sites.
The SBHS has another goal. We want to continue working on an addendum to our book, “The Best Little Beach in Delaware”, but we need your help. If you, a family member, neighbor, or South Bethany resident know of anyone whose recollections of our early times didn’t get included in our book, please contact Terry York (301-395-9764) or Celeste Speer (302-539-6614) to arrange an interview and preserve those memories of our history.
